Sustainable and reliable transport during extremely low water levels

Persistently low water levels on Dutch rivers are putting pressure on the reliability of raw material supply. At Amasus, we use our logistical expertise and flexible fleet to ensure that construction materials can continue to be transported reliably and efficiently, even under challenging conditions.

In cooperation with BNR Bouwstoffen, we transport natural stone from the Netherlands and Scandinavia to Eemshaven. The material is used as foundation stone for a wide range of infrastructure projects. By making use of alternative supply routes and our logistical expertise, we can ensure a reliable supply while providing an alternative to materials traditionally sourced from Germany.

For these shipments, we deploy the Eems Traveller, among other vessels. The vessel is equipped with the innovative bound4blue eSAIL®, which uses wind power as an additional source of propulsion. This helps reduce fuel consumption and, consequently, CO₂ emissions.

Upon arrival in Eemshaven, the cargo is discharged at the depot of Sealane Coldstorage & Terminals, from where the material continues by road to its final destination.

Operations like these demonstrate how, at Amasus, we combine logistical flexibility, innovation and collaboration to provide reliable transport solutions, even under challenging conditions.
